Merge fields allow you to create personalised membership messages for your membership levels. Merge fields are special code tags placed in membership messages that will populate based on data from the contact profile or membership level. 

For example, you want to say 'Hello Jordon' at the start of your message, but you can't possibly write out individual messages to every member. You can use a merge field to populate the members {{first_name}} automatically.

1: Once in your membership level setup, scroll down to Member Messages. 

2: Click on Edit. You can then insert the highlighted merge fields into your message text.

If you would like it a little more advanced you can include the merge field inside a <a> HTML tag to create nice looking / easy to read links

3: Click on Save.

Your members will now receive personalised messages for each of the notifications.
