Groups are very handy to have, it makes emailing information out a one step function.
You're able to create Groups for whatever purpose you need. They're good for doing all sorts of 'housekeeping' in your Organisation e.g. Bulk Importing into Membership, Emailing and even sending SMS messages.
Go to Contacts > New Group
Most options when creating a Group are, well, optional. The only one that's mandatory is the name (1).
We recommend adding a Description (2) to give other admins (including your future self) much more information than the title can contain. How to use the group, when not to use it, etc.
The Logo (3) is optional and lets the group stand out in a list.
If relevant, you can create a Group based on an existing one, using the (optional) Copy members from dropdown (4) and select an existing Group i.e. Members, Supporters etc. This is only available at creation time, not when editing later.
If your organisation is connected to a peak body also using TidyHQ, you'll have the option to share contacts in this group up to the peak body. (5).
Finally, hit Create Group to save.
Your new Group is created and you are able to Add Contacts as required.
To Add Contacts to a Group:
Click the blue Add button
In the search field search for the individual contacts that you would like to add. Click on their name to add to the pick-list.
To the right of the Contact you want to add to the group - as you enter a name or email address (if known), select the Contact you want. Add as many Contacts as required. Select Add.
Remove Contacts from a Group
Select the contact(s) with the checkbox to the left of their name(s).
Click on the Actions dropdown above the table.
Choose Remove from Group.
