Project Templates

Want to create Project Templates for ongoing projects? Find out more here

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Project Templates allow you to save time by creating reusable project structures for tasks that you complete regularly. Instead of manually recreating the same projects and tasks each time, you can create a template once and copy it whenever needed.

When to Use Templates

Templates are ideal for any recurring projects, whether they're internal to your organisation or shared with connected organisations.

Peak Body Organisations: Use templates for annual governance checklists, compliance reviews, or recurring audits that require the same tasks each time. You can also share templates with your connected organisations to help standardise workflows across your network.

Connected Organisations: Use templates for seasonal event preparation, new director onboarding processes, or any repeatable workflows that involve the same required tasks.

See below for how to use templates projects:

Creating a Template Project

  1. Navigate to Projects > Templates

  2. Click the New Template button

  3. Give your template a title and add any required descriptions and labels

  4. Click Create Project

  5. Add your tasks to the template by following this guide: Creating tasks within a project

  6. Once all tasks are added, return to Projects > Templates to view your completed template

Your template is now saved and ready to use whenever you need it.

Using the template

Navigate to Projects > Templates and click into the template you want to use

  1. Click Copy as New Project

  2. Select whether the project is for internal use or connected organisations

  3. Customise the new project:

    • Update the title (for example, add a client name or specific date)

    • Add or modify the description

    • Set the due date

    • Add any labels required

  4. Click Create Project - you'll be redirected to the task page

  5. Review all tasks to ensure they're correct

  6. Click Start Project to make the project live

If you've created a connected project, follow this guide to share it: Sharing a project to connected organisations and other administrators

Your project is now active and ready to track!

Sharing Templates (Peak Body Organisations Only)

Peak Body organisations can share their templates with connected organisations, making it easy to distribute standardised workflows across their network.

To share a template:

  1. Navigate to Projects > Templates

  2. Find the template you want to share

  3. Click the 3 dots next to the template

  4. Select Share Template

  5. A pop-up will display asking if you'd like to share this template across your connected organisations

  6. Click Yes to confirm

Once shared, connected organisations will see the template in their Templates section and can copy it for their own internal workflows.

Important notes:

  • When you make changes to a shared template, the updates appear in real-time for connected organisations

  • Changes to the original template do not affect projects that have already been copied from the template
