See unsubscribed contacts as you are composing your email.

When you're adding a person to an outgoing email, it's possible they've unsubscribed from emails and they would silently be removed - and if they were the only recipient, the email would show an error page.

To this end, we've improved it to show when the user has unsubscribed, as you're composing the email, and will give a helpful warning:
