Contact Links connect two contacts and represent the relationship between them. TidyHQ supports four link types: Family, Associated, Personnel, and Personnel of.

You can also add a Title to any link to capture more specific detail — for example, a Family link titled "Father", or a Personnel link titled "President".

Family Links connect parents, children, and siblings. There are three subtypes: Parent, Child, and Adult. Parent-to-Child is used for families with children; Adult-to-Adult for couples or groups of adults.

When a Parent profile is linked to a Child profile, the parent gains the ability to view and edit the child's contact profile via their own member portal.

Family Links are created automatically when a family membership is registered — links are set up between the adults and children included in the membership.

When registering a membership for someone else, the person registering selects the relationship between themselves and the member as part of the process.

Once the registration is complete, the link appears on each contact's profile.

The linked parent can then view and edit the child's contact profile from their member portal.

Note: Any edits a parent makes to a child's contact profile update immediately in TidyHQ, just as edits to their own profile would.

Admins can also create Family Links manually from a contact's profile — useful for contacts who share an email address, such as a child using a parent's email.

Warning: Creating a Parent-to-Child link gives the parent the ability to view and edit the child's contact profile. Take care when creating Contact Links manually.

Note: For a spouse or partner relationship, select Adult.

Connects two organisations together — for example, a subsidiary, affiliate, or partner relationship between two organisations in your contacts database.

Connects a person to an organisation they manage or belong to.

The inverse of Personnel — connects an organisation to the people who manage or belong to it.
