Step-by-Step Guide for using Zapier 🧙♂️✨
Step 1: Setting up the Trigger from TidyHQ
Log in to Zapier and click on the Create Zap button.
Select TidyHQ as your Trigger and choose the Event Ticket Pack Activated event.
Connect your TidyHQ account if you haven't done so already.
Test the trigger step and proceed with the latest record.
Step 2: Use Microsoft Excel as the Action
After setting your trigger, add an Action.
Choose Microsoft Excel as your action app and select the Create Row event.
Connect your Microsoft account if necessary and choose the Excel spreadsheet and sheet page where you would like to add the ticket purchase information.
Now, let’s specify the fields from TidyHQ to add to the Excel spreadsheet.
Step 3: Test and Activate Your Zap
Test the Microsoft Excel action step to ensure that rows are being added with the correct information.
Once ready, publish your Zap. From then on, whenever tickets are purchased, a row will be added to your Excel spreadsheet.
Note: In Excel, you can use the following formula to convert timestamps into a more user-friendly format.
=IF(E2<>"",E2/(24*60*60) + DATE(1970,1,1),"")
Where E2 has the timestamp value.
Extending this Zap 🚀
We can enhance the Zap by incorporating a Filter step. This allows us to filter ticket purchases based on specific criteria, such as the event name. For instance, only tickets purchased for the ‘Community Picnic’ event will be added to the Excel spreadsheet. You can customise this logic further, such as filtering by ticket name or buyer group.
